Reminder: School will be closed from 12/24/2015 - 1/3/2016. We will see you back again on Monday, January 4, 2016. Have a restful and fun break, and a happy and healthy new year! We have had an interrupted week, and we will next week as well due to illness, testing, and holiday celebrations.
4/5 - We started studying Alaska. We have been learning all about the geography, history, people, industry, and much more! We have also been working hard on our grammar and writing.
Home Connection: Ask your kids about Alaska. What have they learned so far?
3 - We have started learning about South America. Each student will be studying a country, and as a class we are studying Brazil.
Home Connection: Ask your children which country they are learning about.
K/1 - The past two weeks have been spent studying the letters Ff and Hh. Kindergarten and 1st grade students love singing the letter songs. We are about halfway through studying all of the letters in the alphabet!
Home Connection: Keep practicing letter recognition and letter sounds!
Parents - This week we spoke about how to best help your children learn English. If you do not already have books in your home language, they can be borrowed from the NYPL. (Click the link to view their site.) If you are interested in learning or improving your English, please join us on Wednesdays at 8:15 am in Room 212A. Your children can stay in the cafeteria.
